Each of the 4 Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley’s nutrition centers are named after WDC. We take that as a real honor.

It is better to give than to receive …and at WDC we take that to heart. For over 20 years we have partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley to serve our community and give a bright future, as well as a safe place for our local youth.

As you probably guessed, WDC has outfitted their four clubs with commercial refrigeration, icemakers and appliances that the centers use to safely prepare food and beverages for the children at their facilities. In fact, (And we are pleased to say…) each one of the 4 Conejo clubs’ nutrition centers are named after WDC. We take that as a real honor. The nutrition centers also house their Torch Club leadership program, which teaches the children responsibility through creating a budget, staffing the nutrition center, ordering and disbursing of the funds they raise, as well as selling reasonably priced snacks to generate revenue.

The unique and ingenious model of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley is that they are located on school campuses, instead of external locations, making it much more convenient for parents, plus ensuring it’s less stressful and much more familiar for the children they serve. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley facilitate four clubs – at middle schools in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park , along with elementary schools in Calabasas. The locations stretch out all across the Conejo Valley, allowing for the programs to be available to many more children. Their programs begin on a campus and then build out until they need a bungalow to house all the young participants. With the help of donations, free-standing clubhouses are then constructed on the school campuses. It’s a smart business model that’s been successful, (and still growing) for over 20 years.
